Our Values

Transformation Church is a global family of house churches with simple biblical governance, united by purpose, values, and an unwavering commitment to advance God's kingdom worldwide through transformational discipleship.

We Are The Church

Church is family. Church isn't a place to go, it's a thing to be a part of. Church isn't a building, a gathering, or an event led by talented, gifted professionals. A church is a small community of people, whom the Father has saved, adopted, and united as a spiritual family. We are being the church wherever, whenever, and however we're striving to know, love, serve, and build up one another in relationship for the glory of God. We prioritize community relationships that edify and grow God's kingdom, over selfish ambitions and personal preferences.

We Empower Everyone For Ministry

Everyone born again is a son or daughter of God, the temple of the Holy Spirit, and a priest of God who is to offer their own life as a living sacrifice (1 Pet. 2:9; Rom. 12:1). We install qualified leaders to guide and equip everyone to do the works of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-16). Every person has an essential role, not just those doing ministry for a living, have a title, or the most educated, gifted, or talented. Everyone is expected to become like Jesus, discover and develop their spiritual gifts, steward their life, fulfill their calling, and shine like a light in a dark world.

We Pursue The Hungry

We believe all can be saved but not everybody is willing. It's the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). We share and warn but we primarily assist those who want more of God, not pester those who don't. We pursue those who are spiritually hungry, desire to know God, truth, and have eternal life. We look for the peacemakers, the humble, meek, just, merciful, and pure in heart. We pursue those who mourn the brokenness of this world, and hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matt. 5:3-10; Ps. 34; Heb. 3:7-8).

We Emphasize Purity

Diamonds are created the way disciples are: continuous pressure, purification, and refinement. Jesus is returning for a spotless Bride, a radiant church without stain or blemish (Eph. 5:25-27; Rev. 19:7-8; 2 Cor. 11:2). Without legalism or traditionalism, we emphasize righteousness and holiness in both leaders and members. We expose evil publicly (Eph. 5:11; 1 Tim. 1:18-20). We exercise loving church discipline to instill hatred of sin and reverent fear of God. We encourage open transparency and confession (1 John 1:5-9; Jam. 5:16). We excommunicate the unrepentant, and extend grace and inclusion to the repentant (2 Cor. 6:14-15; Matt. 18:15-18; 1 Cor. 5; 2 Cor. 7).

We Pursue Transformational Discipleship

The church exists to lead the sheep, not entertain the goats (Matt. 25:31-46). Our mission is to make authentic disciples of Jesus that obey Him and become like Him in every way (Matt. 7:13-27, 24:18-20; Eph. 4:22-24; Eph. 2:1-10). We prioritize helping sincere disciples walk the narrow path and grow into deeper life transformation, over watering down our message or activities to appeal to the carnality of unbelievers or casual believers. Our goal is disciples living transformed lives, not impressive attendance or growth. As good as teaching is, we don't just teach, we train. We provide practical steps to develop growth and skills related to useful competencies and improving each person's capability, capacity, productivity, and performance. Actual transformation isn't simply encouraged—it's what matters most, and whether or not it's happening is the metric we measure our success by.

We're On Mission To Multiply

Our mission isn't to simply gather or to invite people to our gathering. We're to be disciples that make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). We're to be spiritual fathers and mothers that invest into others. We're to share the gospel with all then help raise those who believe from spiritual babies into spiritual adults that are equipped to share the gospel and make their own spiritual babies. We're to become spiritual parents, grandparents, and great grandparents (1 Cor. 4:15-17). Churches are expected, encouraged, and empowered to grow, commission, and replicate.

We Witness Local and Aspire Global

Following our Great Shepherd, who came to seek and save the lost, we put reaching the lost over our indulgence and comfort. We pray for the lost, evangelize our own communities, and send missionaries to the world's unreached people groups. We pursue God's kingdom advancement primarily through indigenous local church planting and discipleship. We help believers living in unchurched/unreached areas feel supported and empowered to start house churches and reach their neighbors (Mark 16:15; Matt. 24:14; Acts 1:8; Acts 13:1-4; 2 Cor. 10:15-16).

We're Relentlessly Biblical

God's Word is our ultimate source of life, truth, faith, and direction. Every church, teacher, prophet, belief, thought, teaching, prophecy, dream, vision, word, and decision is to be tested by comparing it with the Bible. The Bible is our final authority and it overrules everything. Everyone should know, understand, trust, and live according to it. We emphasize the importance of expositional preaching, and all people knowing and understanding the Bible and being able to apply it's principles, over hearing polished, entertaining, or motivational storytelling.

We Pursue Word and Spirit

We embrace both biblical truth and the biblical truth about the presence and power of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus gave the Church. We embrace intellectual precision in the interpretation of Scripture and preserve the functional authority of Scripture. We also embrace the freedom and fullness of all supernatural operations of the Holy Spirit. All the spiritual gifts are eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised in the church, according to biblical guidelines (John 14:12; 1 Thes. 5:19-22; Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12-14; Gal. 3:1-5; Acts 2:14-21; 4:29-33)

We Pursue Radical Authenticity

When we stop posing and "playing church," cut the small talk, take off our masks, and get real, personal transformation happens. Our willingness to share our deepest, most-authentic self with God and others also invites intimacy and genuine relationships. We endeavor to create frequent, open, non-judgmental meeting spaces and conversations where it's normal and expected to discuss sins, weaknesses, hopes, dreams, fears, emotions, beliefs, ideas, goals, and struggles. Built on trust in our secure foundation and identity in Christ, we're secure enough to lower our walls, be vulnerable, risk getting judged or hurt, and share our deepest, most-sensitive parts.

This outline of our values does not exhaust the extent of our values. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, and it is the sole and final source of all the values that we hold to. For purposes of Transformation Church’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Governing Board of Elders is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
